File Types
- Our ideal file type is a PDF saved with 'press quality' settings, set up with cropmarks and 3mm bleed. This allows us to print edge-to-edge.
Please see our artwork guide on how to create one of these from Canva or Adobe software. - For images, an RGB TIFF or maximum quality JPEG is good.
- If you are unsure about the quality of your file, zoom in on screen to 400% to get a preview of how it will print out as a poster. Posters are meant to be viewed at a distance, so some blockiness is usually OK.
- We also accept Microsoft Word / Powerpoint / Publisher, and we can resize your file for you.
- We'll always check your file send you a PDF proof to approve before printing.
Small Posters: A4-A3
- Laser printing are how we print A4-A3 posters. The quality is excellent and your posters will be printed on a production digital press. If you can supply a PDF with cropmarks and 3mm bleed we'll print them edge to edge. Otherwise we print with a small white margin around each edge as standard.
- 130gsm gloss is a slightly shiny paper, like a takeaway menu. It's much better than standard 80gsm office paper.
- 250gsm silk card is a medium weight card and is smooth and white, with a slight finish to it.
- Plastic 'paper' is tearproof, waterproof and heat resistant, but still thin like paper. It has a matt finish and is recyclable, and can be used indoors or outdoors.
- Gloss Encapsulation (double sided lamination) protects your posters with a plastic finish, making your posters durable and reusable and wipe clean. It can be used indoors or outdoors. We print on card then laminate.
- All our paper is FSC-certified, from mixed and renewable resources.
Large Posters: A2, A1, A0
- Inkjet printing are how we print A2+ posters. We use a photographic printer that uses fade resistant UV inks. Our machine has 9 colours, which allows for excellent RGB colour reproduction for vivid photos and graphics. We print these full bleed (edge to edge) as standard.
- Matt coated card is the most popular choice, suitable for most posters. It has a non-reflective matt finish, and is suitable for indoor use only. It's not suitable for writing on.
- Photo satin is shinier than matt, as is best for photo prints or particularly black designs. It really enhances any sharp, vivid colours, and is suitable for indoor use only.
- Matt Encapsulation uses a matt lamination, which is non reflective. It can dull colours for a more subtle finish, and is not as wipe clean as gloss lamination. We only offer this for A2-A1 posters.
