A3 bound booklets provide the space required for detailed architectural plans, complex spreadsheets, creative portfolios and music scores that need to be read clearly from a distance.
Wire binding allows the pages to open a full 360 degrees and lie completely flat on a desk or music stand. This makes it incredibly practical for reference manuals and presentation aids where you need to keep your hands free.
Every A3 document we bind comes with a protective clear acetate front cover and a white card back for added durability.
Perfect for:
-
Architecture & Construction: Site plans, technical drawings, and snagging lists.
-
Design: Graphic design portfolios and visual mood boards.
-
Business: Large-scale flowcharts, Gantt charts and project timelines.
-
Music: Orchestra scores and conductor's parts that need to stay open.
We'll need to have a file that we can print from.
The 'number of pages' refers to the number of printed sides, not the number of sheets.
After checkout, you'll be prompted to upload your file, and you'll be able to write any special instructions to us there.
We don't print anything automatically. We'll check your order, make sure we understand it, and email you a PDF proof for you to approve first (if necessary). This will show the final layout as it would print, and allows you to check for any mistakes.
Once your order is approved, we'll get started and email you once we've finished.
File Types
- Please send us PDFs, as they are the best file type to print from. If you have a choice of settings, 'press quality' or 'PDF/X-4' is best.
- If you have lots of files that you only want 1 copy of, a free PDF combiner service online might help you make a single file.
Specifications
- Binding Margin: Please make sure that no text is too close to the edge of the sheet. It's best to leave 2cm space from the binding edge.
- Print Margins: Black & white prints have a 6mm white border around each edge. Colour prints can be printed edge to edge, providing you supply us with a PDF set up with 3mm bleed and cropmarks.
- Number of pages refers to the number of pages in your PDF. It is not the number of sheets, it's the number printed sides.
- Colour / Black & White chooses the type of machine we print on. If you have mixed colour and black & white, choose 'colour'.
- Single / Double Sided refers to whether to print on the front or both sides of the paper.
- Page limit: We can bind a maximum of 150 sheets of 80gsm. If your selection is too thick to bind (eg: single sided card), we'll contact you to discuss options
Paper Types
- We recommend printing on card for A3, so that it feels a bit more substantial.
- 80gsm is standard for black & white printing. It's an uncoated bond paper.
